We want everyone to have a memorable and enjoyable experience at ME’s Zoo. Listed below are some suggestions and rules that we request you share with your group. We believe these attributes will contribute to the safety and quality of your trip.
#1 We ask that you call for reservations if your group exceeds 10 people.
#2 PLEASE CALL 765-468-8559 if you must cancel or change your plans
#3 To serve you better, we ask the person responsible for payment have an accurate count of children and adults which whom they are paying and keep the groups separate for counting as they enter the zoo. We would like to request a check or large currency ready to pay for your visit.
#4 If you have a lot of bags, coolers, etc… for your picnic there are wagons available. If your picnic plans involve traveling to the woods and you need assistance other than the wagons notify someone in the gift shop upon arrival.
#5 We can not allow anything to be brought into the zoo for the purpose of feeding the animals and you may not share your picnic (lunch) with the animals. All of our animals are on special diets and we monitor their food intake. However, we have animal food available in our gift shop that may be purchased and we have many feed machines throughout the zoo which operates with quarters. Feeding the animals seems to be a highlight for the children, so you might remind them to bring quarters.
#6 We ask that children stay with the adult in charge of them (we request 1 adult for every 5 to 7 children). The adult should help the children on their travel around the zoo and obey the signs posted throughout the zoo for safety.
#7 There will be no running in the zoo or chasing of the animals. Children who do not obey this most important rule will have to sit on the “time-out” bench. We are very strict about this rule because injury can happen to the child or animal.
#8 If your group wishes to play games….you may reserve our special area. We restrict the use of baseball/softball; however a whiffle ball may be used. Balloons are prohibited for the animals safety.
#9 We have a large gift shop with many unique items for children ranging from $.50 to $10.00. We appreciate your shopping with us and we ask that children be accompanied by an adult in the gift shop.
#10 Remember we are primarily an outdoor facility so if it rains and you wish to reschedule or cancel please call us 765-468-8559.
A large 40 x 60 covered shelter may be used for picnics in the wooded park.
Teachers and children we would like to thank you in advance for your patience with us. We will strive to make your trip eventful, educational and entertaining. We will have Animal Encounter Programs featuring various animals at 9:45 am, 10:45, 11:45 and 12:45. As always we will also have some animals for children to view up close.
