Special Day for Special People
June 16 (Rain Date June 23) 2006

FREE DAY AT THE ZOO FOR SPECIAL PEOPLE

On Friday June 16, 2006, ME's Zoo will open its gates to handicapped persons in Randolph, Delware and surrounding counties for a free day of fun.  This will be the only such day to be offered this summer.

On that date, when the zoo is closed to the public, all mentally and physically challenged persons are invited to tour the zoo between 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.  Also invited are the elderly in poor physcial condition.

Admission will be free to the handicapped individual and to one other person who is needed to assist him/her.  We are sorry, but no other children or adults will be admitted on this day.

All of the regular zoo staff will be on hand with all of the usual attractions.  There will be no food or drinks served so each person should bring a sack lunch if planning to picnic with the animals.

Large groups planning to attend are requested to call the zoo 765-468-8559 for reservations and additional information.

In case of bad weather, a rain date for Handicapp Day will be on Friday June 23, 2006.
